【Important notes】 ・International Buyers: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. ・Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These duties are paid to your country's customs office and not to us. Prompt payment of these fees is necessary to ensure delivery of your item. ・We deeply value your understanding regarding the blade's export process. The duration to secure an export permit might extend up to 2 or 3 weeks, and shipping, based on the destination, could take an additional month. In some instances, sea freight may be chosen, which might lengthen the delivery period to 2-3 months. ・Considering the diligence required for export permit procedures, we'd like to emphasize the importance of commitment after purchase. If the auction is annulled post-confirmation, there's a need to retract the said permit. In such situations, to cover administrative efforts, a fee equating to 10% of the auction's final amount would be requested via PayPal. ・We kindly request bids from those who fully acknowledge these conditions. Please be informed that the original registration document is required to be returned to official authorities, so a copy will be provided with the sword. 【Product details】 This Edo period wakizashi, presented in both white scabbard and traditional mountings, is an unsigned blade that has been attributed to Aizu Kanetomo through appraisal by the NBTHK (Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai), Japan's authoritative body for the preservation of fine swords. The Kanetomo lineage is renowned, with a history spanning from the Genroku era to the Meiji period, across seven generations of master swordsmiths. The sword comes with a copy of the Firearms and Swords registration certificate, as the original is returned to the authorities post-registration. The Shiga Prefecture certificate, number 14206, details the sword's dimensions: a length of 41.2 cm and a curvature of 0.5 cm, with two peg holes. The sword is inscribed as unsigned and was issued on July 10, 1979. The tsuba (hand guard) is notably loose when handled on its own, however, it secures firmly in place once tightened with the other sword fittings. It does not detract from the overall integrity of the piece when fully assembled. Please note, a stand is not included with this lot. Please note that there are some scratches and wear, so kindly check the images provided for confirmation. Dimensions: Overall length with Mountings: 62cm Length of the blade: 53.2 cm Length of white scabbard: 61 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid.
