Antique 19th century Siebe Gorman diving air bellows. A rare piece of antique for any collector. This SIEBE Gorman and Co. - pump was originally used for fire fighting or diving. Circa 1880 with label plate. This very old foot-operated bellows air compressor was originally used to supply breathable air to an respirator mask in the late 1800s. Some were converted to an “alarm” horn when newer, more efficient air supply methods were developed. A copper trumpet was attached to complete this conversion. Leather and spring have probably been replaced. The copper trumpet is loose and should be re-attached. Dimensions are 60 x 30 x 30 cm and weight is 11.8 kg.
