This cage doll is in good condition.
She is partly of wood and partly of plaster or paper mache with a layer of plaster.
The skirt and the arms are carved from wood. The arms and hands are very mobile and can adopt different positions.
She owes her name to the shape of the skirt that resembles a cage.
Santos dolls find their origin in the 13th century, and were originally intended to dress like statues of saints and were manufactured by monks.
This later version is a fashion model and is a beautiful decoration piece.
She can be used as display.
