In 1950, Sleen created the character Doris Dobbel as a weekly gag comic for the magazine “De Middenstand”, the former magazine of UNIZO. The series appeared in the magazine until 1967. In 1952, a square Doris Dobbel comic album appeared, intended as a prize for a competition in the magazine. Presumably, only 100 copies were printed. Eight of (presumably) 100 copies were known, of which only FIVE complete with cover. This ninth copy was recently recovered from an attic! Unique Sleen work. See the light traces of pencil of the name on the cover. The paper is slightly loose at the staples on front, but still firmly attached in the back. The book is still attached to the staples, including the middle page. Light wear on the spine. Collection is preferred, but insured shipping is also possible.
