Simple plastic sextant intended for the yachts and based in the rescue boat sextants from WW2. Developed in the 60’s by the East Berk Boat Company (EBBCo) in Henley. The sextants unfortunately do not have a serial number or date. Telescope/Viewer is in good condition; mirrors in good condition (some scratches and stains which do not affect the use). The plastic foil filters are laminated (see photos) and the leg of one horizon filter is broken off, this only affects the use minimally. But in fact, the filters are not being used anymore. Complete with original manual and warranty certificate in original plastic box. The box is marked ‘Black Rose sextant’; supposedly the name of the (Dutch) ship on which it was used. Summed up it’s a good practice sextant for measuring horizontal or to the stars. Unfortunately, the sun can no longer be measured because of lacking the filters.
