Louis Kalff for Philips - Table lamp Z Model This modernist lamp was designed by Louis Kalff (1897–1976) and produced by Philips. Due to its design this lamp is often denominated as the Z model. The shade is made of aluminium and it is painted matte black. The matte black colour of the shade combines beautifully with the gold colour of the support. The inside of the shade has a light colour to enhance the reflection of the light. The lamp is marked with the Philips logo under the shade. Besides being a designer, Louis Kalff was also successful as an architect. The shade of the shade can be recognised in the design of the Philips Exhibition Centre 'Evoluon'. The architectonic masterpiece by Louis Kalff which was realised in 1966 in Eindhoven. Louis Kalff has designed many iconic lamps for Philips.
