At the front it says ECCE HOMO and on the back the sculpture is marked with DSR DEPOSE. The sculpture is made from a metal alloy with a beautiful antique patina.
ECCE HOMO - Ecce homo (see mankind) are the Latin words used by Pontius Pilate in the Vulgate translation of John 19: 5, when he presents a flogged Jesus Christ, bound and crowned with thorns, to a hostile crowd shortly before his crucifixion.
