Wonderful set of 4 designer stools designed in 1993 by renowned Spanish designer, Pepe Cortés. This is type Jamaica, for Amat. The design is sleek and elegant, yet very sturdy and functional. The bar stools are made of polished cast aluminium with a swivel seat, a 5-legged base and a ring as a footrest. This timeless set is a real eye-catcher. Pepe Cortés studied interior design at the Eina Design School in his native Barcelona before establishing the multidisciplinary design agency Grupo Abierto de Diseno (Open Design Group). As the founder of the company, he has designed award-winning retail spaces, office interiors, restaurants and furniture. From 1984-1988 he was a member of the board of the FAD (Fomento de las Artes Decorativas), a cultural institution dedicated to the celebration and promotion of Spanish design. Cortes was awarded the FAD Jury / Opinion Award in 1983, 1991, 2003 and 2007. Cortes' relationship with Knoll began in 1993 with the introduction of the Jamaica Stool. The cast aluminium design has become a designer icon worldwide. The set is in good condition with signs of wear matching the use. Signs of wear are mainly on the ring where you put your feet and the seats have some scratches. The photos provide a good impression.
