Pavel Pánek (1945-2008). He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in 1961 in Železny Brod. The client at the time was Stanislav Libenský. Pánek started as an artist working for the firm Sklo Union in Teplice in 1969 and worked for them until 1995. He is among the youngest designers of pressed glass. Already soon he earned well deserved respect from another artist. Pánek made his highly regarded ‘Boutique’ in the 1970s, made by the new method of casting moulds. 1. Pánek realised his animal anaglyphs ‘Moose’, ‘Ram’, ‘Lion’ and ‘Ibex’ in 1972, which are unique. He used specific advantages of compression technology in his production. The nucleus (torso) forms a hollow space, the rest of the body is formed individually. This became a vintage Christmas Union Sklo sculpture of a moose in crystal glass in 1971. Dimensions: 10.5 x 13 x 6 cm. It weighs 276 grams. 2. This wonderful Czech textured pressed glass vase with flower motif is designed by Pavel Panek for Rosice Glassworks/Sklo Union in 1974. A great example of Czech modern art. Dimensions: It is 20 cm tall and has a 10 cm width. It weighs 735 grams. Vase and moose are in mint condition and will be shipped with insurance and registration.
