La Vallée is a prestigious Italian watch company, founded in Como in 1974 by Antonio Quintavalle, (who had learned the secrets of the trade in Venice in an artisan shop that repaired watches for Venetian noble families), who initially devoted himself to the production of elegant antique style clocks. Later Quintavalle chose to work exclusively on the creation of luxury clocks, built with high quality materials, up to the design and construction of unique, elaborate and extremely precious watches, almost all made to order with a personalized design, and entirely made inside the company. Gold, silver, jade, onyx, diamonds, sapphires, mother-of-pearl, rock crystal, lapis lazuli and other gems are the materials used by sophisticated craftsmen to create clocks of exquisite beauty and high technology, whose perfection is the result of the long and complex work of a group of excellent masters: designers, sculptors, chisellers, engravers, goldsmiths, watchmakers work with great skill every part of the artefact, to create a unique, unmistakable, precious and timeless piece. Matthew Norman is a truly iconic brand. Founded in the 19th century, the Maison perpetuates a tradition of carriage watches. Legend has it that Napoleon I - exasperated by the delay of his officers, which almost made him lose a battle - made the use of a carriage clock mandatory in the army. Indeed, the surge in popularity of these travel clocks dates back to the 19th century. While the world has changed considerably since then, Matthew Norman's expertise is the result of over 100 years of research and innovation, the result of an ongoing quest for perfection, where design plays an important role.
