This is a unique, wonderful wall light by Raak Amsterdam, designed by Willem van Oyen in the sixties. The model is called Chartres, model number: C-1649. Willem van Oyen Sr, the designer, was inspired by the impressive church windows of the cathedral (please see photo) in Chartres and the colourful paintings of the Cobra school (please see photo). With reinforced glass as a base, van Oyen put strips of broken glass on top and melted all kinds of colours of glass on it, so no two lamps are the same. The lamps are handmade in the studio/company BEVO in Amsterdam, owned by Willem van Oyen Sr. The result is a unique and colourful lamp, which also provides tasteful lighting in your home and looks like an art object. The lamp is 37 cm high, 25 cm wide and 13 cm deep. The metal fixture features two porcelain E27 lamp sockets and a Raak sticker with a model number as a certificate of authenticity. The lamp will be packaged with care and shipped insured with Track & Trace.
