An antique Singer sewing machine from 1899, type VS3. The beautiful decorations are almost completely intact and includes the dust cover with a manual. The sewing machine has been serviced and is ready for use. At the bottom of the machine, the cover is missing. The Singer VS3 (later renamed 28 and subsequent thereto the 128) was introduced in 1886 as a 3/4 version of the VS2. As with its bigger brother, the series VS3 underwent several minor adjustments during its lifetime before eventually becoming the 128K. The transition from a violin-case shaped base to this rectangular base took place in circa 1893/94. Condition: in good condition, mechanically also in good working order.
