This is a complete set of damask table linen with 12 matching napkins measuring 62cmx 60cm. The blood red battens are still as vibrant as when the fabric was woven in the early 20th Century and consist of berries and leaves. The initials B.B. are hand embroidered and are almost done in a kind of "feudal" way and I get the impression almost done deliberately to prove a point that the linen stemmed from the early 20th Century. Embroiderers were already very skilled in their embroidery and wanted to show their talent on linen. The linen has been used ,but is in very good condition and has well been taken care of. The linen is scattered with small fairly insignificant tiny flowers. Lastly as it is a jacquard weave the table linen can also be used at the reverse and the battens wil be even more vibrant.
