Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika - Einzigartige „BULLETPROOF“-Bibel mit Herzschild aus dem 2. Weltkrieg – Infanterie – Luftlandetruppen - Militärausrüstung - 1942
Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible in nice issued condition, not a depot piece. This bible is reasonable and clearly ISSUED condition, i.e. worn - and it has a note in it of the original owner, that it was presented as a gift to him in 1944. The bible itself dates from 1942 and the shield most likely in 1943 as they were mostly made in this year. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: ''May the lord be with you''. Please look at all of the attached photo's carefully. A really nice piece, with a great patina.
