Almost a complete set of 11 Damask linen napkins. The initials L.L. ( could also be J.J. and see large circle for details) hand embroidered in single red cross stitch are sitting in a oval wreath with linked scrolls which looks very attractive. Around the garland are scatterings of single flowers. Around the single flowers is a huge circle with flora. In each of the 4 corners is a large which looks like an open clematis flower, but could also be the head of an iris. The leaves however do not resemble of either flower, but these compositions are always made up with a variety of flora and do not in any way match the flowers. The napkins are framed with a "pearl like" finish I can certify that the letters are hand embroidered as the reverse shows from time to time some loose and long threads. This would not be shown when they were machine embroidered hence each letter is therefore just the little different and also each of the 2 initials can vary in distance from each other and that is so much the charm of hand embroidery and thus not stereo type.
