This is a period & beautiful pillowcas with Renaissance embroidery. In real pure linen thread. Soft, fresh fabric, very fine and regular weave. It "slides" when ironing.!! Real linen thread was used in quality dowry"s ( Trousseaux in French), because these fabrics were very expensive. Superb Renaissance embroidery all around the pillowcase and in each corner. The embroidery is of beautiful quality. With delicate needlework in the center of the flowers and a border of the design. Monograms B.M. framed in the small rectangular piece. Embroidered letters with lots of relief. It closes at the back with 5 mother-of-pearl buttons. This pillowcase is beautiful. The fabric is not fused. It will be superb in a large pillow and as decoration on a bed. Clean, without stains of use, without traces of storage.
