For its 19-year-old Traigh Bhan range, the Islay Ardbeg distillery is inspired by the paradise beach of the same name, also called locally "Singing Sands". A beach of white sand and crystal clear water but full of volcanic rocks sharpened by the tides. We find this duality in a perfect balance between the sweetness of amazing tropical flavors and the complexity of peat and smoke. This Batch 5 aged in American oak barrels and Oloroso sherry barrels, brings aromas of exotic fruits, smoke, aromatic herbs and caramel butter. A very special edition, in very limited quantities. Aging Bourbon & Sherry Peat Very peaty Tasting Nose: fragrant aromas of tropical fruits, while curious notes of herbal incense and smoke follow closely. The menthol lozenge and saddle soap are superimposed on the charred green pepper, before the smoky mango, guava and coconut blend into an effervescent top note. Palate: creamy opens the way to a symphony of herbaceous and spicy flavors, herbs and spices. Smoked, maple-dried bacon, charcoal, white pepper and cloves soar amidst sweet notes of wood smoke and sea spray. Finish: long and satisfying welcomes tropical notes, with fragrant heather, hot caramel and smoked butter.
