Spectacular handmade sculpture in polychrome enamelled porcelain combined with gold, representing the Mesopotamian king Hammurabi. Made by Edoardo Tasca for the prestigious Italian firm Capodimonte. This sculpture belongs to a limited series numbered 548 / 1000, signed by Edoardo Tasca for Capodimonte. We do not stay with the superficial part, we love to go deeper and here the result.....Alessio Tasca, real author, signed his creations under the pseudonym of Edoardo Tasca, he was a prestigious ceramist and designer, who was born in Nove (Vicenza), Italy in 1929. The sculptural work is of a very high artistic level with details to be admired for their perfect execution. Note the perfection of the face, nose, eyes, hair, beard. The sculpture is mounted on a base. Hammurabi was the most famous Babylonian king, creator of the Code of Hammurabi. It is a compendium of laws and judicial decisions intended to serve as a basis for establishing a uniform legal system for the entire Babylonian Empire. Hammurabi's code is one of the earliest written laws in history. The code was inscribed in cuneiform characters on a 2.4 m high, cylindrical diorite stone stele. Measurements Height with base 36 cm Base 18.5 x 18.5 cm Observations: In good condition, complete. It has some small faults, in the base, which do not detract from the value of the piece.
