Majolica - Jardinière - Glasiertes Steingut - Keramik
Remarkable and uniquely decorated double-sided ''Dragons and flowers'' Majolica jardinière from 1900s. Two identical climbing and roaring dragons on each side. Base: 4 lions feet. One frontal side: a yellow rose with leaves and a blossom on one front. The other frontal side: a deep red poppy with leaves and three red buds. Large size. Signed on the base. Most likely French.
In very good to excellent condition given its old age (120 years). Has only a few chips noticeable only on close inspection, can be missed easily as it is so decorated: the bottom tip of one dragon's wing, a dragon's bottom lip shorter, and bottom tip of one flower. Dimensions: 31 cm high, 47 cm wide, roughly 20 cm wide base. Roughly 10 kg.
