FANTASTIC GERMAN PHOTOBOOK, mentioned here:
Manfred Heiting, Thomas Wiegand: Deutschland im Fotobuch, page 66
Signed by Reinhard Matz.
I GUARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE SIGNATURE.
"In their foreword, the two authors state that the romantic landscapes of the 19th century and even August Sander's landscapes of the 1930s no longer exist. "The promise of salvation through nature that they held out must fail today
like society, our landscapes are increasingly dominated by icy rationality of purpose, unfeeling profitability and slick violence. Civilisation and landscape no longer form a contradiction." The "Heimatfotos", which are each assigned to an author in two chapters, are correspondingly clear, distinct and sobering. Manz had already been represented with works from his series a year earlier in the Bonn exhibition In Deutschland. Our Landscapes was honoured in the competition The Most Beautiful German Books 1980 and was one of the most beautiful (Books) from all over the world."
