Alessi - Toyo Ito - Besteck (48) - 48-teilig - „MU“ - Edelstahl 18/10

Cutlery set of 48 pieces composed of twelve tablespoons, twelve table forks, twelve table knives and twelve coffee spoons. This ‘’MU’’ cutlery set was designed in 2013 by Toyo Ito. The production of this cutlery, made of mirror polished stainless steel, involves a virtuosity which puts them in a sophisticated area of Alessi’s technological research that resulted in a years-long delay before this cutlery set was actually launched in 2013. The hexagonal cross-section of the handle - one of the aspects on which the designer focused the project-is complicated to obtain in terms of production. It is the result of a hot moulding process that, through a series of steps, leads to the desired shape. The result is expressed in a formal detail that gives an entirely original character to the Cutlery “MU”, which means “hexagon” in Japanese. Although it is the long, full and perfectly balanced handle that certainly catches your attention at first glance, there are also other formal elements that further enrich this Cutlery design. For example, the blade of the Table knife which is particularly short and rounded. Or the singular form of the bowl of the Spoon. This composition speaks about everyday life, about breakfast, lunch, about everyone getting together for dinner. These pieces will be sure to become a contemporary family classic at each table. Toyo Ito about the ‘’MU’’ cutlery set: “Sharp, yet with a touch of sensitivity and elegance… Linear, yet with an organic quality of plants… We intend to shift our familiar sensations with chopsticks onto cutlery.” This ''MU'' cutlery set is in unused and new condition. Delivered with original packaging and documentation. The cutlery is dishwasher safe. Please read the manual carefully before using the set. Toyo Ito Toyo Ito was born in 1941.
