The result of a proces based on the experience with the Duvel barrel-aged series. Copper-coloured, it’s a truly balanced blend of 3 main brews that matured in 3 types of wooden barrels. Its aftertaste has notions of Distilled Duvel. It took no less than two years to create a dark brown specialty beer that Goossens himself calls “stunning”. “It is a blend of three brews, previously matured separately in three types of barrels: new oak, tequila and whisky. This was then filled into 75 centilitre bottles,” says brewer Cédric Heymans, who spent a lot of time refining the recipe. The 10.8% tasting beer is preferably drunk in a wide wine glass. Peter Goossens calls it “surprising, complex and refined”. “When you smell the glass, you immediately feel like tasting it. The beer is very fresh, certainly not clumsy.
