Stained glass windows with a colourful fire painted Botter sail ship. Hand painted by a craftsman around the 1930's. The botter is an 1850's Dutch type of fishing vessel. Botters mainly fished in the former Zuiderzee, but were also used for coastal fishing in the North Sea. Fire painting labor-intensive, traditional technology - originating from the early Middle Ages. It uses metal oxides, which are burned into the glass at a relatively low temperature, creating the most beautiful colours. This high quality painted decoration with great details gives a wonderful effect when the sun shines through the glass.
