To create a wine worthy of the occasion, with its importance in the national life of the United Kingdom, Taylor’s tasters used some of the oldest and rarest Port Wines to age in oak casks in the company’s cellars in Porto. The resulting blend provides a magnificent way to celebrate this historic milestone and wish Her Majesty a long and glorious reign. Founded in 1692, Taylor's is one of the oldest and most respected Port wine houses. His Majesty King Charles III is the 15th monarch to reign during the company's lifetime. Tasting Notes: Dark tea color surrounded by a crown of yellow gold. Subtle olive green reflections on the maple show the great age of the wine. The nose is majestic and firm. Multiple interwoven dimensions and layers of flavor have evolved over decades of aging in oak casks. A backdrop of cedar, balsamic aroma gives the wine a fresh and distinctive character. All this is covered by warmer notes of caramel, marzipan and vanilla wrapped in a soft and fine wood aroma. The wine owes much of its seductive character to a magical blend of spicy notes – nutmeg, cloves and black pepper – that emerge as the wine opens in the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with the acidity and alcohol beautifully integrated, as well as the smooth, silky texture that is the hallmark of the best cask-aged Ports.
