After it has matured for 15 years in former bourbon barrels made from American white oak, around 30% of the whisky is decanted into Spanish Oloroso sherry barrels for three years. When both parts have matured for 18 years, they are mixed together. The Oloroso barrels provide an incredible amount of liveliness, while the American oak offsets the raisin-like sweetness of the sherry. Inspired by the versatile flavors of Glenmorangie 18-Year Old, renowned floral artist Azuma Makoto created a work of art for this limited edition piece of art made of vibrant, dancing flowers. The depth and complexity of this particularly rare single malt whisky are represented by the flowers in enchanting colors.
