Four wooden legs. No longer in production. Signed in the glass: FIAM Italian AB-II. Very good condition. This table is part of the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass: “green transparent blue glass, wood; folded, laser cut, assembled. Low shape with a rectangular plan that curves downwards on one side with four tapered wooden legs. Fabio Di Bartolomei was born in Udine, Italy, the city where he still lives. In 1979, Di Bartolomei founded his own studio and later established international contacts that led to the opening of satellite offices in New York-USA, Warsaw-PL and in Brisbane Brendale QLD-AU. The main topics of his creative thinking, to which he attaches great importance, are the daily needs of each individual in relation to his living environment. With this in mind, Di Bartolomei starts his research into the right balance between image and functionality. The expression of this can also be seen in his design works, which according to him should always fit the functions for which they are intended. He believes that beauty, no matter how important, is not the main focus of a designer's expression in a project. First of all, he must conceptualize and then create residential objects. That is why he designed the tango coffee table for Fiam Italy in 1996. Beautiful design and fully functional. This table is in good condition, consistent with age and use.
