【Product details】

This exquisite wooden zushi alter cabnet, intricately hTaisho or Showa period, houses a triad of sacred figures. The central figure is Buddha Shakyamuni, flanked by two attendant Bodhisattvas: Manjushri to the left, symbolizing wisdom and education, and Samantabhadra to the right, representing action and practice. These Bodhisattvas assist the Buddha in disseminating the teachings of Buddhism.

The inside doors of the zushi reveal embossed depictions of celestial maidens, while the outside features the formidable Acala, the immovable Wisdom King. The outer sides of the zushi are adorned with Bishamonten, the guardian deity known for protecting warriors and battles, subduing demons beneath his feet. Bishamonten is one of the Four Heavenly Kings within Buddhist tradition.

This zushi shrine shows signs of aging, including surface wear, some scratches, chips, stains, and several cracks in the roof tiles. Please refer to the photographs for a detailed examination of its condition.
