We understand it can be disappointing when your object isn’t accepted. It doesn’t mean your object isn’t special - it’s just not a fit right now.
Here are some of the main reasons why this can happen:
Object value: it doesn’t meet the minimum estimated value we’ve set for that type of object.
Submission guidelines: it doesn’t meet our submission guidelines.
Provenance or authenticity: there isn’t enough documentation to check provenance or authenticity.
Similar objects in auction: if there are similar objects already in auction, we may pause accepting your object to give it the best chance at standing out.
Prohibited objects: certain objects are subject to restrictions, e.g. endangered species or objects that go against intellectual property rights.
Our experts review objects using expertise in their domain and in what our bidders are looking for. If they decide your object isn’t the right fit, you can’t appeal this decision.
You’re always welcome to submit something else. Our experts review each submission with care.
