Large wallpaper roller made by wallpaper factory Rath & Doodeheefver from Amsterdam This cylinder was used in the factory to print beautiful wallpaper. The roller was fitted to a printing machine. The cylinder measures 59 cm x a diameter of 14 cm The manufacturer Rath & Doodeheefver opened a large wallpaper factory in 1934 located at Duivendrechtsekade 54 in Watergraafsmeer, Amsterdam. The R&D factory known as Eerste Nederlandsche Behangselpapierfabriek in Schiebroek, which opened in 1926, had become too small due to booming business. Many employees from that factory came to work in the new factory. They also moved into the area, with most employees settling in Watergraafsmeer, Diemen and Duivendrecht. In 1982 R&D bought competitor Goudsmit-Hof and these companies merged in 1983 to become an operating company with a head office at the Contactweg in Amsterdam, a factory located in Rijen and 14 national points of sale.
