Signed, exquisite Italian Madonna Bust Professor Eugenio Pattarino - Florence Italy. Art Deco c 1930-40s (EPF) A truly beautiful hand painted figurine of Our Lady with her face softly painted in repose and 22kt gold gilt accents on her robe. Eugenio Pattarino was born in 1885 and passed away in 1971. He was a renowned Italian Maestro / Master Sculptor and model maker who taught in art schools in both Venice and Frankfort, Germany. In the late 1940’s he opened his own studio in Florence. Eugenio was joined by his son, Ranier, by the 1950’s Pattarino had more than fifty artists working for him and many were considered to be the best ceramists in Italy. Slight fleabites to the base and little loss of glaize to tip of nose. Pre glazing paint run to the scarf. None of the above detract from the beauty of this piece.
