The polar bear is a sculpture inspired by the sculpture by the artist François Pompon. Material: Polystone. Dimensions: 5.5 cm high, 11 cm long. This statuette was created by highly skilled craftsmen and meets the quality standards of the Parastone studios. François Pompon (1855 - 1933). Pompon was born in Saulieu in the French Burgundy, his father was a cabinetmaker. At the age of 15, he worked for a funeral business in Dijon (France), where he learned the basics of the sculpture. He attended the evening classes in the school of Fine Arts. His real breakthrough only came at the age of 67 with the "The White bear" exhibition (plaster at the Salon of French artists). Then, he successfully exhibited in Tokyo and Osaka. His plaster bear became famous and was made of marble. The Museum of St. Omer bought some of his artwork and the polar bear obtains its place in the Museum of Luxembourg in 1929. The bear is currently exhibited at the Orsay Museum in Paris. This statuette is new, in its box, and comes with the booklet and certificate of authenticity. Neat packaging, shipped with tracking, you can buy safely.
