Vintage final amplifier from the Pro series, made in the late1970s. The final is in near new condition. This is TRUE dual mono DC is definitive in my opinion. Dynamics, timbre accuracy and spatial reconstruction, bass control, image stabilisation, detail, accuracy, and construction robustness. I will give it away reluctantly. Every now and then, a wave of new technological and electronic developments entails some astonishing improvements in performance. In solid state, the SE-9060 amplifier with DC power is a prime example. The 0.02% THD and a 120dB S/N ratio are direct results of the Technics insistence regarding the standards without the necessary compromises for an ultra-clean sound reproduction. In order to amplify the signals from the preamplifier at levels sufficient enough to drive the speakers without the slightest trace of change, not only the total harmonic distortion, but also the distortion of open ring and the transient distortion, all have a reduced state at unprecedented levels. The S/N astronomical ratio is also indicative of the uncontroversial success in the reproduction of the sound, clean and pure. In fact, the distortion and noise levels turned out to be very hard to detect and record, also with advanced metering equipment types. Some of the most important features in the SE-9060 include a CC gain and an almost negligible phase shift of the low frequency region, made possible by the adoption of C.C. amplification stages. The protection circuits provide full protection of both speakers and of the amplifier against potential speaker terminal on short circuits. A simple stereo/mono switching is also provided for use of SE-9060 as a mono amplifier (180 Watts of power) in multi-amplifier, etc. In addition, the low, flat styling (height reduced to half than one of conventional amplifiers) enhances the versatility of SE-9060.
