This is an incredibly rare Disney Scrooge McDuck Wrist Watch (Dagobert Duck). Only 500 of these were made, numbered 219\500. This watch is so very special ... The seconds hand is really invisible, while every second a number of golden coins move around the display. These watches were made on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Scrooge McDuck and only available at the 1997 Disney Convention. The back is engraved with the signature of Carl Barks and the text: "Scrooge McDuck's 50 Anniversary Watch 1957-1997. An Exclusive Creation for the 1997 Disneyana Convention by The Disney Catalog 219\500" It comes with the Gold collecting case in the shape of a brick of gold, and the certificate of authenticity with the original Carl Barks signature on it. The certificate of Authenticity reads: "Born in 1901 in Merril, Oregon, Carl Barks has spent most of his life drawing, illustrating, painting, and telling stories about ducks. Disney Ducks have always been the favorites. In 1935, Carl joined Walt Disney Productions as a storyboard artist,gag man and writer. He worked on more than 30 Donald Duck shorts, as well as Fantasia and Bambi, before ultimately dedicating himself in 1942 to the art form which has made him famous: comic book stories and illustration. For many years, Carl was the preeminent Disney comic book artist and he is considered the father of the miserly Uncle Scrooge. I am pleased to have designed for the Disney Catalog, this original Scrooge Mcduck watch to commemorate the 50th birthday of Uncle Scrooge (1947-1997). It is by certified that the enclosed timepiece is one of a numbered limited edition of 500." Personally signed by Carl Barks, very Rare, very hard to find. This watch has never been worn, is still in near mint condition, with protection still on the back, and comes with a fresh battery.
