Designer Eileen Gray named the table after her summer house E1027 Maison. She built it for her employee Jean Badovici and herself. A code is hidden within the name E1027, and stand for: E for Eileen, 10 for Jean (10th letter of the alphabet) 2 for the B of Badovici and 7 for the G of Gray.
The table top features clear crystal.
