La Bottega del Vasari Chess set - Signed

This truly magnificent chess set is manufactured by La Bottega del Vasari from Italy. Famous, as one of the most reputable firms that produces very luxurious chess sets. The artist Gianni Inclimona who makes the chess sets is regarded as a direct descendant of the famous 16th-century Italian artist Giorgio Vasari. La Bottega del Vasari makes in particular historical battles and produces only a few chess games per year. This chess set consists of a fantastic chessboard, with a loose top of wonderful marble. The chessboard has four horses in the corners, with lots of detail. Also the side of the board is beautifully decorated with ornaments. The chessboard is in perfect condition. The beautiful chess pieces represent two armies of, most likely, the battle of Waterloo. The pieces are made of metal and gold-plated with silver and 24 k gold. All pieces are really works of art in themselves, especially the knights are beautiful. But also the white rooks, with drawbridges stand out. Also unique is that all the pieces bear the signature of the master: Vasari. In similar sets sometimes only the rooks bear the name Vasari, but here it goes for all the pieces, see also the many detailed pictures. The chess pieces are in very good condition. The white queen is a little skewed on her pedestal and six pieces lack the pieces of felt. The dimensions of the chessboard are 50.5 cm x 50.5 cm x 9 cm. The height of the king is 11.5 cm, the highest piece, however, is the rook, with 12 cm. The weight of the chessboard is a whopping 13 kg. The chess pieces weigh 3.6 kg, so the total weight is a whopping 16.6 kg. The entire lot will be packed with a lot of care in two separate packages, and shipped by registered and insured mail.
