This slat chair by Ruud Jan Kokke is the first version he's made. Later on, Kokke changed the chair a bit and the seating area has increased significantly. That's why you immediately recognize this chair as an early Kokke chair. The slat chair is the first design by Ruud-Jan Kokke, made in 1984. At first, the designs were sold to furniture companies by Kokke himself. The production was later taken over by Metaform Harderwijk. The frame of the chair is made of oak, the slats are made of tough and flexible ash wood. The dining room chair and the high armchair were included in the collection of various international museums. The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam has the chair and the high armchair in its collection. The chair is black, but the paint has suffered through time. The chair itself has clear signs of wear as well.
