Panhard - PL17 Tigre - 1962

This car can be viewed from 26 to 28 October at the ClassicsNL car exhibition in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. Unique Panhard PL 17 Tigre from April 1962. The condition of this Panhard is very neat and original given its age. The car drives and shifts well, but please note: the bearings of bullet crank need to be replaced, with this type of car this is necessary at every 40,000 km. This Panhard with its beautiful blue colour, is a startling appearance on the road. Ideal is the spacious entry level of all four doors, these go wide open. The original interior consists of caramel coloured fabric upholstery of the seats and the back seat, the door cards are partly of fabric and partly of artificial leather, this is still in a fairly neat condition. The car drives and shifts well, the bullet crankshaft bearings do need to be replaced, which for this type of car is necessary at every 40,000 km. Naturally, this Panhard has very slight signs of wear due to its originality, see pictures. This Panhard is definitely worth the effort and a viewing! The Panhard PL 17 is a car that was made by the French manufacturer Panhard from 1959 to 1965. Presented on 29 June 1959, as a successor of the Panhard Dyna Z, the PL 17 was developed from the older car, but with an even more streamlined body than its predecessor. The car initially continued to use the engines of the Dyna Z, both of 851 cc. The standard produced 42 HP (31 kW) (DIN), the ‘Tigre’ produced 50 HP (37 kW) (DIN). The engines are two cylinder air cooled ‘boxer’ types, mounted with the gearbox at the back and the two exhausts at the front. From July 1960, the engines were decreased in capacity to 848 cc (to comply with tax limits on 850 cc on many markets), while the power remained as before. Naturally, this Panhard has accumulated signs of wear, including rust blisters, see pictures. This vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands. Bids do not include transportation and export.
