British George V model 1897 Pattern Officers Sword, complete with original brown leather sheath. The guard has the monogram of George V, GRJ. Large, heavy sword in very good condition and complete of all its parts. The handle, with no missing parts, is covered in shark skin and has an intact metal thread. Gorgeous blade with double edge towards the tip, very thick with a large central groove, etched with plant decorations as well as the royal coat of arms in the centre and the monogram GRJ. The blade is marked with Made in England and the crest of the army (the six pointed star with golden centre). There are some surface stains on the blade, aside from the engraved area, and on the hilt, which reflect the normal and beautiful aging process of an item that is over a hundred years old. Light sheath with metal hardware, covered in fine brown leather. It is also complete with original frog and leather straps and belt, which is very rare. Shipped only within the European Community!
