Sabre for officers of the light cavalry/Hussars from the period of the 1st Empire/Batavian Republic Sabre.
Sabre and sheath completely mounted in iron. Stirrup hilt with leather grip and twisted copper wire in the grooves (slightly damaged) thread is loose in the grooves. The blued blade features the engravings that were usual at officer’s sabres around 1800.
In the Kingdom of Holland by Louis Napoleon these swords were worn by the hussars of Louis Napoleon/period Batavian Republic and Kingdom of Holland.
