Tintin - 50 ans de Travaux Fort Gais - Tirage 2.000 Ex. - avec 2 (!) films planches - First edition - (1978)
This album, print for the 50th anniversary of Tintin, in 1978, is outstanding because it was published in a limited edition of 2,000 prints and it has 2 films of original plates instead of only one film of the so-called “22 bis” plate only.
It is a Casterman tribute to its favourite author, Hergé, with this special 24-page model, which illustrates the process of creating from the original plates to the publication by Casterman with the famous plate 22Bis, which was not taken over in the album "Picaros" + the print film of this plate 22 bis.
You should know that Hergé was forced to remove from the album this famous plate called 22 bis, because Hergé realized that he had made by mistake 63 plates for this album "Picaros" instead of the usual 62 pages requested by Casterman Editor.
We suppose that this rare copy comes directly from a former Casterman employee, since the book is enriched, in a very unique and exceptional way, by another film of an original plate, directly print from the genuine original plate by Hergé. In addition, the album features in front of the title page a newspaper article of the time, with a photo of the reception attended by Hergé on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Tintin in a hotel of Brussels.
The black edge around this second plate shows the original document : the original plate of Hergé.
The film of this Board includes a scene of the two colonels who talk together, which makes this plate close to the famous plate 22 bis, which has not been included in the album, since Hergé was forced to '' give up '' this plate in order to keep the correct number of plates requested by Casterman for the album.
This outstanding album, with the "Album with two plate films Tintin Picaros" presentation, is a "Collector Hergé", very sought after and essential in any collection of old comics.
