In well-working order, a unique and even rare "City Hall" wall clock by the Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen for manufacturer Georg Christensen. At the bottom is the name of the designer and on the top the name of the manufacturer, see the close-up photos. This wall clock was designed in 1956 for the SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. Literature: Arne Jacobsen, by Carsten Thau & Kjeld Vindum, page 530. Dimensions: diameter 31 cm x depth 5.5 cm. Background information: Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was a Danish architect and designer. Jacobsen joined the architectural firm of Paul Holsoe after his architectural studies in Copenhagen in 1927. In 1930 he set up his own office. Jacobsen was professor of architecture at the Royal Danish Art Academy. His most famous designs are St. Catherine's College in Oxford and the SAS Hotel in Copenhagen.
