A beautiful heavy mortar, executed in cast bronze after a classic model, which resembles the tip of a cannon. On the belly, there are two bands with floral patterns, one of which with many birds. Above it is a rim with the following inscription: 'Heinrick ter Horst me fecit anno 1607'. The mortar has a wide base rim and on both sides two beautifully shaped handles with animal heads, it is supposedly a mortar from ca. 1900 made after the 17th century example The mortar is in very good condition and has a beautiful dark patina. The piece weighs no less than 4.400 kilograms and has a diameter of 21 cm.
