Ezio Didone - La Murrina - "Hiroshima" model table lamp

Very rare "Hiroshima" model, made in 1969 by La Murrina, designed by Ezio Didone. Published on Domus magazine no. 481, 1969, page 23. Also shows the original tag under the base, with the writing "Designer: Ezio Didone Arch." The model is inspired by the atomic bomb dropped on the city of Hiroshima. The explosion created a mushroom shaped cloud, very similar to the shape of the lamp. Made from two heavy blown incamiciato orange glass parts, the upper part represents a transparent glass band. The two parts simply lie one above the other. Once lighted, it creates beautiful lighting, can be employed as table lamp or floor lamp. Very well kept, only flaw: a chipping in the lower glass edge, well shown in the photos. Barely visible once mounted. Original wiring, inspected and in perfect working order, with large light bulb socket. Size: 37 x 45 x 45 cm. Weight: approx. 7 kg.
