Giovanni de Simone - Jar (2) - Ceramic
He was a ceramist born in Palermo in 1930 and was active in Rome and Palermo, where he had a workshop called “Maioliche d'Arte De Simone”. From the post world war two years, he made hand-painted floor and wall tiles, for use in furnishings and majolica sculptures, in traditional and modern styles inspired by primitivism, but revisited in easygoing tones and characterised by the use of full bodied and bright coloured glazes.
He died in his hometown in 1991
