This exceptional example of a original WW2 British Commando issued Thompson M1A1 submachine gun. During WW2 the US agreed to supply British and Common Wealth forces firearms under the lendlease program. These guns were marked ''US Property''. Thompsons that were recieved by British Commando units were modified so that the sling swivels were modified on the top of the shoulder stock and to the side of the foregrip. In addition most had the foregrip hand chequered for better grip. These characteristics can be clearly seen on this superb example. It has matching numbers to reciever and trigger assembly and has the unit marked ''32 D'' on the stock. The serial number dates it to 1942/43 and is one of only 249,555 Thompsons that Auto Ordnance Bridgeport plant made during WW2. This figure includes both the M1 and M1A1 models. Cocking handle moves under spring pressure. Comes with a 30 round magaizne, a 20 round magazine and a original 1941 dated British Enfield sling.
