Wooden bust of a Balinese woman by A. Fatimah-Bali-Indonesia Mid 20th century - Good condition A particularly beautiful hand-carved bust of a Balinese woman by A. Fatimah (a.k.a. A.A. Fatimah). Bali, ca. 1940. Beautiful old patina and polished remarkably smooth as they used to do, nowadays you don’t see this as much anymore. A. Fatimah worked in Bali during 1940 and 1950 and was known for his ebony sculptures. He also made use of other indigenous wood species such as sandalwood. It is signed on the bottom with: A FATIMAH MD POEGEO The statue is of high quality and in good condition, with normal traces of wear and tear. A wonderful example of masterful carving art in Bali.
