In the year 2000 the now celebrated architect Thomas Sandell designed the outside chair Vagö for IKEA, maybe one of the greatest design classics ever made for IKEA. It is one of the very rare recent (21st century) items for which IKEA has opted a reissuing by popular demand, which happened in 2011. The Vagö is still available in white and black. The Vagö even exists in a small doll version. To further enrich the reissue in 2011, Sandell designed the side table Sandskär with a removable server. On a fine mid-century style tulip foot (freely after Eero Sairinen). The Sandskär had the same functionality as the Vagö: created for outside use but also nice enough to be placed inside.
