Lepper Primus - Vintage bicycle saddle - Leather, Numbered frame

Amongst bicycle connoisseurs, the Lepper Primus is the Rolls Royce of bicycles. This is why this saddle is still in reasonably used condition, and after more than half a century this can still be used. The large springs are still working perfectly. A number is visible on the frame under the saddle. The leather does of course, show some cracks from drying out, after years of enjoyment, but can still be used. A beautiful and decorative piece in the man-cave of the bicycle enthusiast, or for a restoration project. Lepper is a Dutch manufacturer of bicycle components, and was originally a German company. The company was founded in the late 19th century, in the German city of Bielefeld. Founder Ludwig Lepper started to manufacture bags in 1894. In 1897 he opened a factory for the production of saddles. In 1926 they opened a subsidiary in the Dutch town of Dieren. The saddle measures: 30 cm x 24 cm and Height: 20 cm.
