Remains of ornaments recognisable on the cross-guard rare blade shape (double-sided chamfer + middle ridge (see photos) This sword is from the Pax-Romana Gallery (UK), 2019 It has been expertly restored/electrolytically treated Description: approx. 900 – 1100 AD. Rare, medieval double-edged blade, the fullers on both sides almost reaching the point. Short flat quillons, with conical tang and flattened mushroom pommel; large decorated cross guard. A spectacular example of Viking weaponry. Provenance: Property of a private collector from London; from father's family collection, formed in the 1970s – 1980s. Dimensions: 970 mm; 960 grams.
