Henk Potters
Henk Potters (Oisterwijk 1924 – Tilburg 2003) studied at the forerunner of the Academy of Visual Education and the Sint Joost Academy in Breda (1941–1949). He then worked as an illustrator and became skilled in murals and stained glass. In his free works he was primarily a meritorious painter and draftsman. From 1953 Potters lived in Tilburg in the Gasthuisstraat (Gasthuisring). Here he started a pottery with his wife Lies. In 1955 they moved to Goirle and in 1962 to Oisterwijk. There, the pottery grew into a much–visited phenomenon. Potters designed countless ceramic objects that were used as anniversary or commemorative items in many Tilburg companies, sports canteens, schools and living rooms.
